Omega starting blocks for swimming
A starting block is a stable elevation on the edge of the pool, which ensures that the swimmer can take off properly. But OMEGA’s unique OSB11 starting block also ensures that the swimmer’s body is in the right position for an explosive start. Tests by world-class swimmers have shown that the OSB11 starting block contributes to a faster race compared to the standard block. A starting block with Relay Break Detection (RBD) is indispensable in swimming competitions. The RBD monitors when the swimmer breaks away, so that a false start is immediately indicated.
The starting block measures 780 x 570 millimetres, with a height of 650 millimetres and a weight of 47 kilograms. The platform size is 740 × 520 millimetres. The track numbering can be seen on four sides of the starting block. Naturally, the OMEGA OSB11 starting block meets all official FINA competition requirements.
OSB14 and OSB11 starting blocks
Swiss Timing has developed the OMEGA starting blocks OSB14 especially for swimming pools with less space. The narrower base of the OSB14 means that this starting block can also be installed on an end wall. As with the OSB11, the OSB14 starting block ensures that the swimmer’s body is in the right position for a lightning-fast start. You can also choose an OSB14 with RBD for your time registration.
The starting block measures 737 x 314 millimetres, has a height of 655 millimetres and a weight of 29 kilograms. The platform size is 740 × 520 millimetres. The track numbering can be seen on four sides of the starting block. The OMEGA OSB14 starting block meets all official FINA competition requirements.
OSB12 Starting Block
The revolutionary OMEGA OSB12 starting platform ensures that the swimmer’s body is in the correct position for a start. The platform can be mounted on almost any existing starting block. This is also an ideal solution if only the top of the starting block needs replacing. You can also choose RBD for your time registration with the starting platform.
The platform measures 740 × 520 millimetres. Of course the OMEGA OSB12 starting platform with RBD meets all official FINA competition requirements. All starting blocks or platforms have an anti-slip surface, an easy-hand grip for extra comfort, and it is possible to adjust the footrest of the starting block so that every swimmer can make optimal use of it.
